Workshop – Holding a Special Event in Warrumbungle Shire

Special Events Workshop is free for all event organisers, community groups, local organisations as well as community members interested in the process involved in holding an event within Warrumbungle Shire.

Warrumbungle Shire Council will be hosting the Special Events Workshop on Wednesday 26 June 2019. The workshop is an opportunity for current and future event organisers to learn and gain knowledge the processes involved with holding an event in the Warrumbungle Local Government area.

Warrumbungle Shire Council’s Mayor, Counillor Denis Todd said, “This workshop is a great opportunity for current and future event organisers within Warrumbungle Shire area to not only understand the process of planning a special event, but to also understand the requirements and timelines of when certain tasks need to be attended to, to ensure the event is safe and a success.”

“Topics covered throughout the workshop include preparation for a special event and risk management; support available to assist with finding and applying for funding; approvals to be considered by NSW Police, Planning, RMS, Local Traffic Committee & other authorities; and how Council’s Manager of Economic Development & Tourism and Community Development Coordinators can assist with promoting events”, said Clr Todd.

Clr Todd said “a variety of speakers will present at the workshop including representatives from Roads and Maritime Services, NSW Police and Council’s officers in Environmental Health and Road Safety, to name a few.”

Special Events Workshop is a free workshop and light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop will be held at the Coonabarabran Council Chambers on Wednesday, 26 June at 5:30pm till 7:30pm.
