Warrumbungle Shire Swimming Pool Season 2022/23
The swimming pool season is almost here, with longer days upon us and warmer temperatures just around the corner, it is time to think about getting active in your local pool.
“Preparations are being made for the swimming pools across the Shire for opening throughout October and November 2022, in a staggered approach,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The pools in Coolah, Coonabarabran and Dunedoo will open first. Baradine, Binnaway and Mendooran pools are subject to staffing, and expected to open up to three weeks later.”
“Unfortunately, we still do not have enough Pool Attendants to give a definite date on when our pools will open even though we have been recruiting on an ongoing basis since June 2022. Some pools may even open with restricted hours,” said Cr Doolan.
“We have a particular problem with staffing for the Binnaway and Baradine pools. If someone has an interest in working at our pools then please contact Council.”
“Season and half season tickets for the 2022/23 swimming pool season are available and these provide access to all of the pools across the Warrumbungle Local Government area any time between 6.00am and 6.00pm. The season and half season ticket holders will be provided with an electronic swipe card to gain access to the pools and will be inducted into Council’s requirements,” Cr Doolan explained.
“This year there is also a senior’s discount season ticket price for anyone who holds a senior’s card.”
“To minimise the disruption at the pools people are encouraged to purchase their season tickets early from Council Administration Offices prior to the pools opening.”
“For those without a swimming pool season ticket, access to the swimming pools will be available when Pool Attendants are on duty. Details on when a pool attendant will be available at each pool will be made available on Council’s website once recruitment has been finalized and information will be updated regularly,” said Cr Doolan.
Schools and user groups are reminded that bookings are required if you want to hire the swimming pool. When making a booking it is essential to notify Council if you require the services of a Pool Attendant.
“Whether it is for fitness or recreation, the pool is a great place to wash away the winter hibernation, so make sure you purchase a season ticket and make the most of these terrific facilities in your town,” Cr Doolan concluded.
Season tickets can be purchased at Council Administration Offices prior to the pools opening. For information on swimming pool timetables, dates of the 2022/23 swimming pool season, fees and charges, and booking forms visit the
Town Swimming Pool Tab on Councils website.
