Small Heritage Grants Program 2024: Apply Now!

Small Heritage Grants program is now open and is inviting owners of heritage items and buildings to apply for funding.

“This initiative offers dollar-for-dollar financial assistance to support the repair and restoration of local heritage sites, said Warrumbungle Shire Council’s Director Environment and Development, Leeanne Ryan. “Successful applicants can receive a refund of up to 50% of the cost of approved works, with a maximum grant of $1,000 per property. The total amount granted may vary depending on the number of applications received.”

“Previous grant-funded projects have included exterior and interior painting of heritage buildings, roof and gutter repairs, and internal wall restoration,” said Ms Ryan. “The program also supports projects where the owner's contribution is in the form of labor or materials, rather than cash, and applications for ongoing staged programs of work are welcome.”

The Small Heritage Grants program is administered in collaboration with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment (Heritage NSW).

Please note that applications will not be accepted from properties with unpaid rates.

The application period for the Small Heritage Grants program runs from 26 August to 30 September 2024. Applicants will be notified of their success by the end of October 2024, and all approved works must be completed by 11 April 2025.

“This grant program provides a valuable opportunity for heritage building owners to undertake necessary repairs and preserve the historical integrity of their properties,” Ms Ryan concluded.

Application forms and guidelines are available on our website under the Haver Your Say Tab. For further information, please contact Erin Player, Personal Assistant to the Director of Environment and Development Services on (02) 6849 2000.
