Rescue Resource NSW Winter Warmers Appeal

Animals in the pound at Coonabarabran received the benefit of donations from Rescue Resource NSW Winter Warmers Appeal, helping to keep animals in pounds and shelters warm over winter.

“The Warrumbungle Shire Council animal pound has been lucky enough to receive a number of donations from Rescue Resource NSW,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “Our animals have been receiving donations from Rescue Resource NSW for a number of years and it is always greatly appreciated.”

“A large donation of blankets, toys, treats, handmade dog coats and comfortable beds have been delivered this winter, assisting our animals that are currently in the pound to stay warm and comfortable throughout the winter period,” Cr Todd explained.

Rescue Resource NSW source and supply pet items at no charge for pounds and rescue shelters across NSW, aiming to ease the load that these organisations face on a daily basis. A dedicated team of volunteers work tirelessly before the Winter Warmers Appeal contacting pounds and rescue shelters, sewing, sorting items, packing donations and organising transport, helping our furry friends to keep warm throughout winter.

“Council would like to thank Rescue Resource NSW Winter Warmers Appeal for delivering an amazing selection of donated goods to our animal pound in Coonabarabran,” said Cr Todd.

“With winter approaching quickly, now is a good time to remind our residents to think about their pets needs in the colder weather. It is important to make sure your pet has warm bedding and sufficient shelter to protect them from these cool elements,” concluded Cr Todd.
