Project Postponed – Building our Warrumbungle Communities

The Building our Warrumbungle Communities project has been postponed due to sudden COVID-19 restrictions.

“This Shire-wide project was set to go ahead this month but due to the changes to COVID-19 boarder restrictions in Western Australia the project has had to be postponed,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The project facilitator Peter Kenyon is based in Western Australia and with these new restrictions and quarantine requirements it has unfortunately made travel impossible.”

“The Building our Warrumbungle Communities Committee is working hard to set a new date and it is looking like this project will be rescheduled to May 2021,” Cr Doolan explained.

“Thank you to all those people who have already registered to the workshops and conversations which were set to be held in February 2021. Everyone who has already registered will be contacted by email with advice”

“As the project has been pushed back a few months the Building Our Warrumbungle Communities Committee will use this time to keep communicating with the community to prepare for the workshops. The Committee will be working to ensure communities are informed about all the events and conversations which are being held and where the best opportunities are to contribute to these workshops to build our communities,” concluded Cr Doolan.

The website, www.buildingourwarrumbunglecommunities.org, will remain active and as dates are confirmed the information will be on the website. For those on Facebook search for Building Our Warrumbungle Communities to keep up to date and please share.
