Improvement works for Mendooran Water

The installation of a new section of water main pipe is set to improve the water reticulation and quality for Mendooran residents.

“The installation of a new section of pipeline and the removal of a ‘dead-end’ reticulated water main in River Street, Mendooran will commence in the next couple of weeks,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “These works will create a more efficient water supply system throughout the township of Mendooran.”

By removing the ‘dead-end’ reticulated water main in River Street and connecting it into the new reticulation main at the corner of Yalcogran Street and Cobra Street will allow the water supply to run more efficiently and therefore improving the water quality in the associated areas in Mendooran.

“These works are a capital project that will be undertaken as part of the Financial Year 2021/22 works program. Council will engage an under bore contractors to assist laying the pipe with minimal mechanical excavation,” said Cr Doolan.

“It’s great for our residents that a lot of water capital projects are now powering ahead this financial year, fixing, maintaining and improving the water supply and quality in towns across the Shire,” concluded Cr Doolan.

During the upcoming project, residents may notice an increase in plant movement and traffic control signage may be in place. There is expected to be minimal water supply interruptions for residents. However, anyone who may be affected will be notified prior to an interruption occurring.
