Dunedoo Drainage Project

Drainage in Dunedoo is currently undergoing an improvement with works in the central business district well underway. ‚Äč

“The Dunedoo drainage project is addressing concerns raised by residents on the eastern side of town about storm water damaging roads and flooding through their properties”, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “The project begins in Wargundy Street and will extend along Yarrow Street to Wallaroo Street and then up to Bullinda Street.”

Cr Todd said “works commenced before Christmas and is now in full swing.”

“The new pipes join with an existing drainage channel. The works are expected to cost around $800,000 and are being undertaken by Council staff.” said Cr Todd.

There will be disruptions to traffic during installation of the storm water pipes, particularly in Wargundy Street where traffic lights will control traffic in one lane of the road.

“Residents used to driving in the area are asked to take special care when driving around the work site as traffic conditions will change from time to time during construction. Council would like to thank the Dunedoo Community for their cooperation during this time”, concluded Cr Todd.
