Current Water Situation in the Warrumbungle Shire

Despite being the middle of summer there are no water restrictions in place for any of the towns across the Warrumbungle Shire.

“With the continued good rainfall in the Timor Dam and Castlereagh catchment areas along with ground water levels being recharged, water supplies have been replenished to a much more satisfactory situation,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “After several tough years it is great to see our communities being able to care for their gardens once again.”

“Throughout those awful times of drought Council greatly appreciated the efforts that residents and businesses took to reduce their water usage.”

“While we do not have water restrictions in place it is still important that we remain conscious of the amount of water we are using. Residents still need to be wise with their water use”, said Cr Doolan.

“We appreciate the community’s compliance with water restrictions over the past few years and we hope our communities continue to use water wisely and sustainably”, concluded Cr Doolan.
