Creating A Vision: Council Initiates Exciting Journey For New Economic Development And Tourism Strategy
The commencement of a transformative Economic Development and Tourism Strategy has started, aimed at shaping the region's economic future and enhancing its tourism potential.
“Warrumbungle Shire Council has engaged SC Lennon & Associates, renowned experts in economic and tourism development, to spearhead this initiative,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor Councillor Ambrose Doolan. "This strategy marks a significant milestone for our community.”
“This strategy will not only build upon our past successes but also charts a robust path moving forward for the next five years. Council is committed to fostering sustainable economic growth, enriching our tourism offerings, and addressing the challenges that lie ahead,” said Cr Doolan.
The strategy is designed to align closely with local, regional, and state objectives, addressing both immediate needs and future opportunities within the Warrumbungle Shire. Key objectives include attracting investment, supporting local businesses, and creating new job opportunities to bolster the local economy.
"We invite our community members, including residents, businesses, and stakeholders, to actively participate in this process," said Cr Doolan. "Your insights and feedback are invaluable as we work together to shape a prosperous future for our Shire."
SC Lennon & Associates will lead the strategic planning process, employing a phased approach that includes thorough research, community consultations, and detailed action planning. The strategy will encompass all areas of the Warrumbungle Shire, leveraging its unique strengths and enhancing opportunities across diverse townships and communities.
"We are committed to ensuring that this strategy reflects the aspirations and priorities of our residents," Cr Doolan emphasized. "Regular updates and opportunities for engagement will be provided through our official channels, including our website and social media platforms."
For more information on how to participate in shaping the Economic Development and Tourism Strategy please contact Council’s Manager Economic Development and Tourism Jeff Woo on (02) 6849 2000.
