COVID-19 Pandemic: Updated Changes to Council Services

With the ever evolving closures which are being released from the Federal and State Government Warrumbungle Shire Council will continue to take precautions in response to the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

In adhering to state and federal government advice, the following non-essential services are closed until further notice including:

Swimming Pools: All Swimming Pools will be closed from 6:00pm Wednesday 25 March 2020.

Libraries: Macquarie Regional Libraries have advised that they will be closing all Library braches across the shire from 5:00pm Wednesday 25 March 2020.

Community Halls and Indoor Public Spaces: All public community halls, youth centres and indoor public meeting spaces will be closed.

Coonabarabran Visitors Information Centre (VIC): Warrumbungle Visitors Information Centre has been closed. To contact the Visitors Information Centre during this time please call (02) 68492144.

Changes will be made to the following services:

Council Administration Offices: From Friday 27 March 2020 Council administration offices in Coonabarabran and Coolah will now open to the public at 9:00am. 

Connect5 Children Services: Will commence transition to remote delivery mode where possible. At this time a number of locations have been closed to our service onsite, details will be provided on Connect5 Services Facebook pages.

While some services remain operational we urge residents to consider phoning or emailing Council instead of attending the Council Offices face to face. If direct contact is required then please maintain a social distance of 2 metres and utilise the hand sanitiser provided.

Council’s leadership team is currently following its Business Continuity Plan to manage business interruptions while at the same time maintaining the health and well-being of staff and the community.
