COVID-19 assistance and support now available

With COVID-19 restrictions impacting our communities directly, Council is urging people to access the assistance and support that is available for individuals and small businesses.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is evolving rapidly and now is unfortunately impacting our communities directly,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “With so much information and advice around the pandemic being released, it can be confusing and unclear as to what assistance is available for our community members doing it tough.”

“There are many services and many types of assistance available during these unprecedented times. These include, and are not limited to: mental health support, free community counselling, support package for individuals and businesses, support webinars, businesses advisors, improved COVID-19 check in systems and Land Tax Relief to Help Landowners and Tenants,” Cr Doolan explained.

With assistance available from a wide range of Federal and State agencies and other support providers, a list of various support tools is compiled for easy access on Council’s Website under the COVID-19 banner. Further information is available from NSW Health at www.health.nsw.gov.au

If businesses or individuals are finding it hard seek relevant support information, or are unsure where to start accessing support, get in touch with Council’s Manager Economic Development and Tourism, Jo Houghton on (02) 6849 2000.

To get a list of benefits and services that are specifically tailored to you and your business go to the COVID-19 assistance finder on the Service NSW website www.service.nsw.gov.au/covid-19

“Let’s stay safe, keep our communities safe and be kind to one another throughout these times,” Cr Doolan concluded.
