Coonabarabran Skate Park Reopens After Vandalism Incident

The Coonabarabran Skate Park is once again welcoming skaters and visitors after a recent incident of vandalism left the park temporarily closed.

“The damage, which included graffiti and irreparable harm to the park's shade sail, occurred earlier this week, was extremely disheartening for our community,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “However, following thorough cleanup efforts by dedicated Council staff, the damaged shade sail has been safely removed, and the skate park has undergone extensive maintenance to ensure it meets safety standards. As a result, the park has reopened just in time for the school holiday period, much to the relief of local residents and skate enthusiasts.”

Acknowledging the skate park's significance as a recreational hub for the youth, Cr Doolan encouraged continued community vigilance. "We urge residents to report any information related to the vandalism incident to the authorities. It's essential that we all work together to protect and maintain our public facilities," he added.

To report information regarding vandalism incidents residents can contacting the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or through the NSW Police Force Community Portal Intentional Damage Report (nsw.gov.au).
