Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) re-opening in Warrumbungle Shire

The Warrumbungle Shire Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) will re-open operations on Monday 11 October 2021.

“With the Warrumbungle LGA emerging from Stay-at-Home orders and COVID infection risks reducing with increased vaccinations the operations at our Container Deposit Scheme collection points in Coonabarabran and Dunedoo will be reopened next week,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Normal operating hours will be in place from Monday 11 October 2021 and we urge everyone to please be patient as we anticipate a high demand for this service.”

The operating hours for CDS will be as follows:

• Dunedoo Transfer Station:
Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 4:30pm and Sunday 8:30am to 4:30pm

• Coonabarabran Waste Facility:
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Saturday to Sunday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

“There may be higher volumes of people depositing a large number of bottles and cans so delays may occur. Please remember to sign in with the QR Code and physically distance where possible to keep our community safe,” said Cr Doolan.

“Council staff will be doing their best to process this increased volume and we ask the general public to be patient and courteous to staff members during this process,” Cr Doolan concluded.
