Community Banner Poles

Are you a not-for-profit or community group looking for another way to advertise your events? The community banner poles are available for hire to fly community event advertising.

“With over 30 community banner poles in 5 towns across the Warrumbungle Shire, Council is encouraging community organisations to make application to book these banner poles to promote local events across the Shire,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “This is a great opportunity as these banner poles are located in very prominent and eye-catching locations allowing for great community exposure.”

In 2019 Council received funding from the NSW Government through the Drought Communities Funding Programme, allowing for the erection of the banner poles in towns across the Shire bringing vibrant and attention-grabbing banners to our communities.

“The Street Banner Usage Policy has now been updated and allows community groups, not-for-profit groups and community event organisers to book these banner poles for promotion of their events,” said Cr Doolan.

Banner poles are located in Binnaway, Coolah, Coonabarabran, Dunedoo and Mendooran. Bookings must be made through Council as the banner poles can only be booked when they are not in use for Council events and activities. Commercial promotions are not permitted on the banner poles.

“Next time community groups are applying for funding for their community events, be sure to keep in mind the cost of getting some banner pole flags created to fly each year when the community event comes around,” Cr Doolan explained.

If community groups are planning an upcoming event make sure to get in contact with Council’s Manager Economic Development and Tourism for more information on banner specifications, optimal banner designs, and banner pole locations on (02) 6849 2000 or email info@warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au.
