Coming together to support our communities

Warrumbungle Community Care has welcomed the donation of Hygiene Packs to help its vulnerable clients keep their homes clean and hygienic.

“This week Warrumbungle Community Care staff and volunteers collected over 100 Hygiene Packs from Woolworths in Coonabarabran,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “This donation will go a long way in our communities.”

Warrumbungle Community Care, through the Meals on Wheels program, has partnered with Woolworths and Reckitt Benckiser (RB) to provide Hygiene Packs to vulnerable community members. “It is amazing to see these organisations coming together working with Warrumbungle Community Care to support our local clients,” said Cr Doolan.

The packs include a variety of Glen 20 and Pine O Clean products, including Glen 20 Surface Spray Disinfectant which is proven to kill the COVID-19 virus on hard surfaces.

“Although the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is underway, hygiene at home continues to be important and these packs which will be delivered to homes across the Shire will be a big support for clients to maintain and clean and healthy home,” Cr Doolan explained.

Distribution of these packs will take place for Warrumbungle Shire Meals on Wheels clients in the coming week. Each eligible Meals on wheels client of the service will receive a pack with their food delivery.

“Thank you to Meals on Wheels, Woolworths and Reckitt Benckiser (RB) for this generous donation and thank you to Warrumbungle Community Care staff and volunteers for collecting and distributing these packs,” said Cr Doolan.

“It is important to have services like Warrumbungle Community Care ensuring that our vulnerable residents are cared for and looked after,” Cr Doolan concluded.
