Child Care Fees Waived

Child care services are now being provided at no cost to the parents and carers across the Warrumbungle Shire area, thanks to a support package from the Federal and State Governments.‚Äč

“Yuluwirri Kids, at both the Bandulla Street and Robertson Street campuses in Coonabarabran, is now offering Early Childhood Education and Care at zero cost,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “Pending government review of COVID-19 funding arrangements, parents and carers will be able to get access to support from 6 April 2020 until 28 June 2020.”

“Families will continue to have access to the services they trust, and have certainty that these services will stay open during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,” said Cr Todd.

“Council’s child care services provide an essential service by supporting our community and families, and promoting the wellbeing of children. Care for children of essential workers will be prioritised as well as vulnerable and disadvantaged children, and children who have previously been enrolled. However, new enrolments are welcome,” explained Cr Todd.

You can now enrol your children for the following services, although places are limited;

• Yuluwirri Kids Coonabarabran Preschool and Long Day Care
• Connect Five - Monkey Room Preschool
• After School and Vacation Care
• Connect Five Mobile preschool – supporting existing enrolments remotely

Services are approved under the Early Childhood Education and Care National Law and Regulations. For further information or to discuss the enrolment process, contact Council’s Children’s Services on (02) 6849 2184.
