Awarded for Long Service within Local Government

Warrumbungle Shire Council Councillor Denis Todd has been acknowledged and awarded for his long service to Local Government at the recent LGNSW Annual Conference.

Local Government NSW presents annual awards that recognise significant achievements of councils, councillors and individual local government employees. This year at the LGNSW Annual Conference Councillor Denis Todd was acknowledged with a Certificate of Service. Recipients who have served 20 or 25 years will be presented a framed certificate and a medal featuring LGNSW’s logo with the recipient’s name and the year of presentation engraved on the reverse side.

“Congratulations to Cr Todd on this wonderful achievement. After commencing as councillor of the former Coonabarabran Shire Council, Cr Todd has been in local government for over 20 years,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ambrose Doolan. “It was wonderful to see Cr Todd acknowledged for his extensive services within local government and receive an incredibly well-deserved award.”

Cr Todd commenced as councillor in 1999 at the former Coonabarabran Shire Council and now currently holds the position as councillor at Warrumbungle Shire Council. During his time in Local Government he has served as Deputy Mayor from 2016-2018 and was Mayor of Warrumbungle Shire Council from 2018-2020.

Many decisions have been made and many motions past in the last 23 years, while Cr Todd has been an elected member. He has had a big part in shaping and progressing the Warrumbungle Shire into what it is today. In particular, Cr Todd has taken a keen interest in the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure such as roads, bridges and sporting facilities, seeing the importance of these services in attracting more people to take up residence in the Warrumbungle area. More recently Cr Todd has been involved in the Inland Rail project.

“Congratulations Cr Todd and thank you for your service,” Cr Doolan concluded.
