Australia Day Award Nominations 2023

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Australia Day Awards. 

“Each year residents of Warrumbungle Shire are invited to nominate fellow citizens for the Warrumbungle Shire Council Australia Day Awards,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The Warrumbungle Shire Council Australia Day Awards are run in conjunction with the NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards.”

“It is a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate those across the Shire who are achieving great things and making a difference,” said Cr Doolan.

Award nominations can be made in the following categories: 
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Sportsperson of the Year 
• Environmental Citizen of the Year
• Young Environmental Citizen of the Year
• Australia Day Award – Young Sportsperson of the Year 
• Australia Day Award – Senior Citizen of the Year
• Australia Day Award – Cultural Achievement Award 
• Australia Day Award – Community Event of the Year

“Do you know someone who would be eligible to be awarded one of the Australia Day Awards 2023? Jump online and nominate them now,” Cr Doolan concluded. 

Nomination Forms and Guidelines are available on Council’s website under the ‘Have Your Say’ tab and at Council's Administration Offices in Coolah and Coonabarabran. 

Nominations close at 4:30pm on Friday 26 November 2022. Late nominations will not be accepted.
