During the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis Warrumbungle Shire Council, through the Meals on Wheels Program, is providing additional support for affected community members. ‚Äč

Warrumbungle Shire Council, through its support arm Warrumbungle Community Care, provides services for the frail aged, people with a disability and their carers to assist them to continue living independently in their own homes. This assistance includes Meals on Wheels. Additional support is currently available for people affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic to access subsidised meals.

“Community members who are experiencing financial hardship due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic may now be eligible for subsidised temporary meal support,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “Warrumbungle Shire Council’s Community Care service (WCC) has been provided with additional funding from the Federal Government to introduce this extra support into the Meals on Wheels program.”

“To support those needing the service WCC has established 12 new local food partnerships across the Shire in order to streamline the roll out of this new temporary support. This initiative is supporting individuals in our local communities, but is also supportive of our local businesses and economy,” said Cr Todd.

Booklets of ten, $10 meal vouchers have been created for eligible recipients to purchase subsidised meals from the following food venues:

    Coonabarabran
Eat It Café, Subway, Golden Sea Dragon Chinese Restaurant, Cardian’s Coffee Lounge, the Black Kockatoo

    Baradine
    Embassy Café

    Binnaway
    Binnaway Bowling Club

    Coolah

    Dunedoo
White Rose Café, Chad’s Bakery, Hotel Dunedoo, Dunedoo Pie Shop, Kakkadoo Kafe
