A new interactive attraction – Geo Trails

The Geo Trails app is a new interactive experience for visitors and residents to use when exploring the Warrumbungle National Park.

“Warrumbungle National Park boasts many incredible activities, sights and adventures. Now, after years of collaborative creation, the launch of the new Geo Trails app adds to the attractions,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Five (5) fabulous Geo journeys provide a first-hand insight into molten lava, fire fountains and mud flows from 18 million years ago.”

“Geo Trails works off an interactive app called NSW GeoTours. It allows anyone who is visiting Warrumbungle National Park to download the app and be taken on an interactive and educational tour of the Warrumbungles, unveiling breath taking scenery and historic volcanos.”

This attraction has been a collaborative project between Geological Survey of NSW (Department of Regional NSW), NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (Department of Planning, Industry & Environment), Warrumbungle Environmental Education Centre (NSW Department of Education), local Aboriginal representatives, and Warrumbungle Shire Council.

“This new attraction is aimed at bringing visitors from all over the country to come and see the spectacular and rich historical backyard that we call home,” Cr Doolan concluded.

Jump online and download the app by searching NSW GeoTours. Mobile reception is not necessary for the app to work on mobile devices.
