$3.4M Funding Boost to Fix Local Roads

Warrumbungle Shire will receive almost $3.4 million to fix local roads through funding recently announced under the Fixing Local Roads Program.

“This is a very welcome announcement by the Federal and State Governments and will see a number of road improvements undertaken right across the Warrumbungle Shire area” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd.

“Council has identified nine projects to be completed under this funding,” Cr Todd explained. “These projects include:

  • Coolah Neilrex Road – sealing the final section, providing a sealed road from Coolah to Neilrex
  • Rehabilitate sections of the following roads; Neilrex Road; Coolah Creek Road; Booloola Road; Piambra Road; Bugaldie Goorianawa Road; Lawson Park Road; Merrygoen Road; and Napier Lane.”

“It will be wonderful to complete the sealing of the Coolah Neilrex Road and I’m sure this project will be welcomed by the residents surrounding the area,” said Cr Todd.

“It is great to have both the Federal and State Governments partner with us in delivering these projects. It will make a big difference to the overall safety for those using our road network shire wide,” Cr Todd concluded.
