There are a variety of unique events held in the Warrumbungle Region throughout the year. From celebrating the region's love of astronomy to hosting concerts in some of Australia's most stunning scenery, you will find everything from 150 year old horse events to bush poetry celebrations. The Warrumbungle Region really has an event for everyone. The Recycled Art will also be on show with many old pieces of machinery being transformed into pieces of Art. Friday and Saturday follows on with all the usual Agricultural Show activities from Horse events, Cattle, Sheep, Yard Dog Trailing, Team Penning & this year introducing Miniature Horse Classes to the Ring events. Pavilions will have all the regular sections as well ranging from Caged Birds, Poultry, through to Cooking Needlework Jams Etc. Australia's Living History will have demonstrations as well as static displays throughout both Friday & Saturday. The Rodeo will be on Friday evening starting at 6.30pm with entertainment at the Bar during and after the Rodeo. The fun will continue on during Saturday with Noah's Racing Pigs and the ever Popular & educational Reptile Display coming again with something for everyone, Saturday evening we will have the usual fun activities and Saturday nights entertainment will be Amanda Faulkner and her Band.

The main street is closed to traffic from 8am to 1pm and locals and visitors alike can meander the street, enjoying the many street stalls, musical entertainment and great shopping specials. There's a jumping castle for the kid's entertainment and plenty of food stalls to tempt the tastebuds.

Well, head to Coolah and have a great weekend at the Annual Coolah Veteran's Touch Footy Carnival. After a great day of competition, join the party atmosphere on Saturday night with all hotels and clubs providing live entertainment. Activities will be arranged for the Saturday night of the touch carnival at the Coolah Sporting Club (at Bowen Oval), Coolah Valley Hotel and the Black Stump Inn. Since its inception in 2008, Art Unlimited has attracted entries from a broad spectrum of artists, photographers and ceramicists from across Australia. Art Unlimited prize money totals more than $11,000, with first place prizes of $3000 awarded in each of the competition’s three main categories (hanging art, photography and ceramics). Winners are chosen by a panel of high profile judges from the Australian arts community. The ninth Art Unlimited event will be held on 18th to 27th May 2018 with the official opening and exhibition preview taking place on Friday 18 May, 2018 at 7pm. This event is an opportunity for artists to sell their works and for art lovers to have the chance to view these diverse expressions in art, photography and ceramics. Tickets cost $35 and can be booked via the website.

The Sunday of the races the Jockey Club host a welcome BBQ at the track for locals and return visitors to catch up with family and friends. Sunday night at the Bowling Club you get to experience a good old fashion Calcutta with a phantom call of the Cup. Monday morning of the races, the Chamber of Commerce put on a FREE breakfast for all the visitors to the town in front of the historic Court House. Then its off to the Races! With a full bar, tearooms, BBQ and a free light luncheon provided by the Jockey Club there is something to eat for everyone. The Champagne marquee is a big hit with the ladies and with TAB facilities it keeps the punters happy. He has many years experience in exhibiting in Australia and overseas and his practice ranges from the digital to stone carving, drawing, painting and performance. A short film about him made in collaboration with FW Collective can be seen on ABC iView. Jeremy is offering a day-long workshop titled ‘Abstracted Nature’ for local practitioners. Artists will use digital imaging to investigate nature and landscape and then be shown a variety of techniques to re-imagine these images into the abstract realm for sculpture, painting or ceramics. Bring digital camera and / or phone, sketching paper / pad, preferred drawing media (pencil, graphite, charcoal etc), other preferred media for studio investigation such as watercolours, oil / acrylic paints, air drying clay, ceramics, small canvas, or other desired (portable) medium. This class is perfect for artists at any stage of their career who are looking to take their creativity to the next level.
