Mendooran Mechanics Institute

Project Overview

Council has been successful in obtaining funding through the Stronger Country Communities Fund - Round 2 for the installation of a new amenities block at the Mendooran Mechanics Institute. The works will include the installation of a new on-site sewage management system, covered disabled ramp and walkway and amenities block.

This project aims to update the Mechanics Institute Hall allowing community members to utilise the hall all year round with working amenities. The hall currently gets utilised for many sorts of community activities including Debutant Balls, Community Meetings as well as by multiple recreational and leisure community groups.

With this funding from the NSW Government, Warrumbungle Shire Council will aim to work along side the community to see the installation and completion of the new amenities block at the Mendooran Mechanics Institute to facilitate the future needs of the Mendooran community.

Project Update

May 2020

The Mendooran Mechanics Institute upgrades are now completed. The project would not have been possible without funding from NSW Government through the Stronger Country Community Fund Round 2.

This project has provided much needed upgrades to the Mendooran Mechanics Institute, with the installation of a new amenities block with a covered disabled access ramp.  A new On-Site Sewerage Management System was also installed to meet the requirements of the new amenities block.  An official opening will be held when COVID-19 public health orders are lifted.
