Central West Councils Environment & Waterways Alliance

In 2013 Local Land Services (LLS) facilitated membership of 19 Councils across the Central Tablelands and Central West LLS regions, known as the Central West Councils Environment and Waterways Alliance (CWCEWA). The Alliance aims to improve environmental outcomes across the region.

Further information is available on the Alliance by visiting their website.

State of Environment Report

The State of the Environment Report is reviewed annually as part of the Environment and Waterways Alliance.

The information contained in the report is derived from key indicator data arranged thematically to give the state of the environment and the responses in place to address identified environmental pressures.  Most importantly the collation of data over time establishes trends and measures performance of implemented programs across the region.

The reporting themes include:

  • Air
  • Land
  • Water
  • Biodiversity
  • Human Settlement
  • Sustainability

Previously the Warrumbungle Shire Council has prepared a local report.  In 2007-8 the formation of a regional partnership with the co-ordination and co-funding of the Central West Catchment Management Authority was established.  Comprising 17 local councils from the central west of NSW, the Alliance has facilitated sharing of resources and a more comparative approach for data analysis.  From 2013 the Alliance has extended membership to the Central Tablelands region of NSW and has membership of 19 councils.
