If you are planning on building or renovating and the work does not meet the requirements of exempt or complying development the you will need to lodge a development application through Council. All development applications for local development require a completed application form, three copies of plans on A3 and a statement of environmental effects. If you are building a dwelling you will be requires to submit a BASIX certificate with your application. Read more about BASIX certificates.
Any habitable building being bush within a bushfire prone area will also require approval or concurrence from the NSW RFS.
