Council will not place you on its outdoor casual eligibility list without a current driver's licence and White Card, as a minimum. To improve your chances of obtaining work, we suggest that you also hold a Traffic Controller ticket and an HR driver's licence.
While there are many training providers for the OHS Construction Induction Certificate ("White Card") and Traffic Controller ticket, in this region the main provider is TAFE (Coonabarabran Campus tel: 6842 0700).
While being on Council's casual list is no guarantee of employment, our most skilled and reliable casuals may obtain frequent work, with many having gone on to obtain permanent employment.
Council has casual employment available, mostly in Child Care, and on occasion also in the areas of Social Services, Finance and Administration, as well as Cleaning.
