Robertson Sports Amenities Building

"An impressive and functional building is being planned for Robertson Oval in Dunedoo" says Warrumbungle Shire Mayor, Councillor Peter Shinton.

Warrumbungle Shire Council, through the Robertson Oval Advisory Committee, has developed a concept plan for the replacement the outdated and dilapidated building currently at Robertson Oval.

Councillor Shinton says, "the Committee has developed a concept plan that will cater for all current users of the sporting complex. The new building also has the potential to cater for additional activities and sporting events bringing residents from the surrounding region to Dunedoo".

A master plan for Robertson Oval was first developed by Council and the Dunedoo Community four (4) years ago. The construction of the netball courts and improved irrigation for the playing fields were the first stage of the master plan.

"The Advisory Committee has worked hard to get these projects completed and is now keen to move on to the next stage which is the replacement and upgrading of the current sports building", says Councillor Shinton.

"The Advisory Committee is working with Council’s architect to ensure that the building is attractive, functional and low cost to operate."

Some of the features of the proposed Robertson Oval sports building include, male and female change rooms, undercover viewing area, a large and functional canteen, toilets, a multipurpose room and gym, separate rooms for referees with male and female facilities, a medical room, an office and meeting room, and a separate 3 bay equipment storage shed.

"Warrumbungle Shire Council is pleased to present the concept plans and Council is encouraging the Dunedoo community to inspect the plans and make comment" said Roger Bailey, Council’s General Manager.

Concept plans are currently on display in the window at Milling Stuart Real Estate in Dunedoo. The concept plans will be on display until Tuesday, 10 April 2018. Written comments on the proposed building are to be made in writing to the General Manager, Warrumbungle Shire Council, PO Box 191, Coonabarabran.
