Planning Proposal – Amendment to the Warrumbungle Shire Local Environmental Plan (2013)

Warrumbungle Shire Council has on exhibition a Planning Proposal that addresses concerns raised by residents over the issue of building entitlements on lots where dwelling were destroyed by the 2013 Wambelong fire under the current Warrumbungle Shire Local Environmental Plan 2013 (WLEP). 

The objectives and intended outcomes of the proposed LEP amendment are: 

  1. To ensure that it is permissible to erect a dwelling with consent on land which a dwelling was destroyed by the 2013 Wambelong Bushfire, as recorded by Council.
  2. To ensure that environmental impacts associated with the rural-residential development are appropriately managed at the development application stage.

 The Minister has delegated the making of this Planning Proposal to Warrumbungle Shire Council.

The Planning Proposal can be inspected from Thursday 8 February 2018 to Thursday 8 March 2018 at the following locations:

  •  Coonabarabran and Coolah Council Administration Offices

 Submissions will be received up to Friday 9 March 2018, addressed to the General Manager, P O Box 191, Coonabarabran 2357, or email info@warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au.
