Congratulations to the Warrumbungle Shire Council Community Development Program who last night won the NSW Local Government Excellence Award in the Community Partnerships and Collaboration category for Council's under 15,000.

The NSW Local Government Excellence Awards are some of the most prestigious awards in the local government sector. The awards recognise the excellent contributions and outstanding achievements and innovations being implemented to advance and improve the local government sector in New South Wales. They are designed to recognise both project based initiatives, and continuous improvement programs undertaken by individuals acting individually or within a team.

The NSW Local Government Excellence Awards were presented at an awards evening held in Sydney last night. Warrumbungle Shire Council was represented at the awards evening by General Manager, Steve Loane.

The Community Partnerships and Collaboration award highlights genuine and effective partnerships and collaborations that have resulted in better outcomes for Council, as well as initiatives that demonstrate a commitment to working with and / or in the community to achieve positive outcomes.

This category recognises excellence in cross-council collaboration, community partnerships and partnerships created to provide or improve services that strengthen and enhance the physical or social infrastructure of a region, including integration with other spheres of government.

This award recognises individuals, groups or councils who have demonstrated strategic cross-council collaboration or alignment of policies, programmes or frameworks for regional development and growth.

Congratulations to all the Community Development Coordinators and the respective Development Groups and Progress Associations.
