Water for the township of Coonabarabran continues to be sourced from nine (9) bores. The Castlereagh River is still not being used to provide water for the town supply.

Residents are reminded that modified Level 5 water restrictions are in place. Current Level 5 restrictions allow the watering of gardens with buckets and watering cans for two (2) hours a day between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.

Water patrols are being undertaken to ensure that residents are complying with the restrictions. Fines of up to $220 for individuals may be applied and water restriction devices installed should members of the public be found to be breaching the water restrictions.
