Coolah Roof Replacement

The Warrumbungle Council administration building in Binnia Street, Coolah, will be receiving some much needed structural updates over the coming weeks.

Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd said, “the Coolah administration building was constructed in 1954 and was officially opened by His Excellency the Governor of New South Wales Lieutenant General Sir John Northcott on 24 March 1955."
“The building is currently utilised by Council staff to carry out administrative duties. The Coolah office provides an important link for Warrumbungle Shire Council staff with the communities in the Southern end of the Shire” said Cr Todd.
Cr Todd explained, “the box gutter at the front parapet has caused water to back up and leak into the office area. To overcome this problem Council will be removing the old aluminum roof tiles. This will then be replaced with new steel.”

“Quotes have been sought for the construction of the new roof and the successful contractor has been notified. It is anticipated that the construction will commence in the coming weeks.”

“While it will be business as usual during the construction process, there will be scaffolding in place surrounding the building to ensure the safety of both the community and staff who will continue to have access into the Council building”, Cr Todd said.
Works are expected to take up to four (4) weeks to be completed.
