Cobbora Land Use Planning Strategy

The sale of the Cobbora Holding Company Pty Ltd (CHC) land portfolio has begun, and presents a unique opportunity to support and re-build community resilience for the Dunedoo region.

Council have appointed consultants City Plan Strategy and Development in partnership with Aurora Research and Development to prepare a Land Use Planning Strategy for the re-zoning of land use for the 44,000 hectares held by CHC. Over 60%, or 27,100 Hectares, of land held by CHC is in the Warrumbungle Shire local government area.

The Strategy will ultimately recommend a mix of land uses and supporting infrastructure improvements that can help re-populate the area, and build long term stability. It will provide a focus for public and private investment, and form the basis for future changes to Warrumbungle Shire Council’s planning requirements to facilitate new development.

The consultants will launch the project on 7th December, with a public meeting from 2-4pm at Jubilee Hall, Dunedoo. Attendees will be given an overview of the project’s objectives and timeline, as well as an early opportunity to share ideas and feedback directly to the consultant team.

For more information, you can contact the consultant team directly at cobboraproject@cityplan.com.au , or visit our Cobbora Land Use Planning  Strategy web page.
