Upgrade works to the Baradine Hall have now been completed and the facility is ready for use.‚Äč

Baradine Hall Committee was successful in securing $25,000 in funding through the Federal Government Drought Communities Fund.

“The Baradine Hall Committee is a very active and hardworking group of local community members who are committed to the ongoing improvements and renovations of the Memorial Hall”, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Acting Mayor, Councillor Aniello Iannuzzi “The Committee has big plans in the pipeline to upgrade and update the community Memorial Hall to ensure many more generations can enjoy this facility.”

“The Baradine Hall Committee has engaged a local contactor to undertake internal renovations in the main hall area. These renovations include; preparation and painting of the walls in the main hall area, restoration of broken windows, ceiling restoration with the replacement of ceiling sheets as well as painting the entire ceiling. As the labour and material are being sourced locally this project has inevitably had a positive financial flow on effect for the Baradine Community”, said Cr Iannuzzi.

“Baradine Hall was built in 1953 and has been utilised for a range of different functions which have enriched the Baradine Community for many years. Baradine Memorial Hall is currently used as a community hall and is regularly used for concerts and functions, and also by Baradine Central School as an assembly hall”, said Cr Iannuzzi

“This upgrade to the Memorial Hall will enable the Committee to improve the way the community makes use of the building as small functions can now utilise the front portion of the hall separately from the main area, and for larger functions the entire hall can be utilised. This will allow the community to hold more events and host more community engagement activities all year round”, concluded Cr Iannuzzi.

The Baradine Memorial Hall is managed by the Baradine Hall Committee members. If you are interested in hosting an event in the hall contact Rural Transaction Centre on (02) 6843 1166.
