Australia Day Ambassadors 2018

Warrumbungle Shire Council is pleased to announce the following Australia Day Ambassadors who will be welcomed to our Shire to help celebrate Australia Day 2018.

Dr Rob Gordon

Rob Gordon PhD, is a clinical psychologist who has worked in disasters and other emergencies since the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires.  He has been a consultant to the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) for emergency recovery since 1989 and Red Cross Emergency Services for over 10 years.

Rob has worked or consulted on some 40 natural and human caused disasters and emergencies in Victoria, other Australian States and New Zealand.  He has also consulted to various high stress community emergencies such as animal disease outbreaks, soil contamination, financial crisis and agricultural industry crises.

Rob was Clinical Director of the staff Critical Incident Stress Services for DHHS for 18 years and has extensive experience in staff support and debriefing after emergencies and traumatic incidents.

He conducts a private practice in Box Hill, Victoria where he treats adults and children affected by trauma and disaster as part of a general psychotherapy practice.  A particular interest is how disaster and trauma affect the sense of identity in those involved and how the effects of this can be worked with in a creative way.

Warrumbungle Shire is pleased to welcome Rob to Australia Day celebrations in Mendooran, Dunedoo and Coolah.
