Coonabarabran Water Report - Week Commencing Monday, 19 February 2018

Warrumbungle Shire Council wishes to advise residents that for the week commencing Monday, 19 February 2018 the water level at Timor Dam was 29.5% of dam capacity. The current dam level is lower than the worst level recorded during the 2002 – 2010 Millennium Drought.

Child Safety is Maximised through Correct Child Car Seat Use

Child car seats significantly reduce the risk of being injured or killed in a crash, when correctly fitted. According to Centre for Road Safety the fourth biggest killer on NSW roads is not using a restraint appropriately, which includes seat belts and child car seats.
Planning Proposal – Amendment to the Warrumbungle Shire Local Environmental Plan (2013)

Warrumbungle Shire Council has on exhibition a Planning Proposal that addresses concerns raised by residents over the issue of building entitlements on lots where dwelling were destroyed by the 2013 Wambelong fire under the current Warrumbungle Shire Local Environmental Plan 2013 (WLEP).
Summer Clean-up

Warrumbungle Shire will again be conducting a hard waste collection service to assist rate payers with the opportunity to clean-up their properties. Town areas of Coonabarabran, Baradine and Binnaway will be collected week commencing 26 February 2018.

Coonabarabran Water Report - 4 February 2018. Timor Dam water level is currently 30.8% capacity. Continued hot weather increases demand for water across town, putting a strain on the water supply. Residents are reminded that Level 5 restrictions are in place for water consumers in Coonabarabran.
Call Out for Drovers and Drivers to Remain Diligent

Central West Local Land Services, along with Warrumbungle Shire Council are appealing to drovers and drivers to be aware of their responsibilities when sharing our roads with livestock. It is the responsibility of drovers to ensure that stock signs are located on the roadside and clearly visible to drivers approaching from either direction at all times when stock are not in a holding yard. Drivers are also reminded to slow down and remain cautious when they approach a stock ahead sign.
