State of the Environment

Last modified: July 16, 2009 - 1:07 PM

Council’s State of the Environment Report is reviewed annually.  The information contained in the report is derived from key indicator data arranged thematically to give the state of the environment and the responses in place and required to address these identified pressures.  Most importantly the collation of data over time establishes trends and measures performance of implemented programs.

The reporting themes include:

·          Air
·
Land
·
Water
·
Biodiversity
·
Human Settlement
·
Sustainability

Previously the Warrumbungle Shire Council has prepared a local report.  In 2007-8 the formation of a regional partnership with the co-ordination and co-funding of the Central West Catchment Management Authority was established.  The participation of 17 local councils has facilitated the sharing of resources and a more comparative approach for data analysis.
