Community Strategic Plan – It’s time to have your say!

Following the election of the current shire council in September 2016, it is now time for the community of the Warrumbungle Shire to have a say over the future direction of the shire and it’s running over the next 4 years through input to the Community Strategic Plan (CSP).

The plan aims to identify the main priorities and aspirations of the local government area and establish objectives and strategies to achieve those objectives that address social, environmental, economic, development, recreation, and public Infrastructure and services issues as identified by the community.

The approach in through this process will be to explore as a community:

  1. Where have we come from?
  2. Where are we now?
  3. Where do we want to go?
  4. How will we know we've arrived?

Additionally, for the first time the Community Strategic Plan will also include a “Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP)”.  Separate consultations will be run to focus on making our community more inclusive. Key areas to be addressed include

  • Attitudes and behaviour

  • Liveable Communities

  • Employment, and

  • Systems and Processes.

Consultations will commence on Monday 27th March and consist of 40+ forums including general forums and focus groups for seniors and young families, schools, local business, the indigenous community, farming community, government and community services.

If you’re unable to make one of the forums and would like your voice heard, there are some other options.
