Workforce Management Strategy

Council was required to review its Workforce Management Strategy in conjunction with the Resourcing Strategy by 30 June following the election of the new Council.

Council’s HR department facilitated a number of Workforce Management Strategy Workshops in May, for both staff and stakeholders.

All workshops were supported well by invited staff and external stakeholder representatives with all attendees encouraged to give their views.  Attendees were asked to identify areas of Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats.  From the information received from all workshops HR identified six focus areas being;

  1. Recruitment and Retention
  2. Reward and Recognition
  3. Planning and Professional Development
  4. Performance Management
  5. Organisational Development and
  6. Work Health & Safety.

An action plan with timeframes to work towards over the next four years has been completed.

Council endorsed the reviewed Workforce Management Strategy 2013-2017 at the June Council meeting. Click here to view the Workforce Management Strategy 2013-2017
