Our Centre Goals

  • To create an environment where children of all ages, genders, cultures and backgrounds feel safe, secure, happy and loved.
  • To encourage children to develop by hands on experience where teachers guide and ‘play’ becomes an education in itself.
  • To foster individual development by planning programs that are the result of individual observations and child initiated needs and interests.

Learning Environment

Our centre provides four separate educational rooms. Each room is specifically designed and resourced to suit the needs of each age group, with a particular focus in the Giraffe Room on life skills development and school transition programs.

0-2 years (“Panda Room”)

This room is a place for children to discover their world, make connections and for attachments with adults, peers and to gain confidence in their world.

2-3 years (“Possum Room”)

This room is a place for promoting independence and self help skills, developing friendships and relationships, it’s a place to discover, investigate and explore their world.

3½-5 years (“Giraffe Room”) (Children eligible to start school next year)

This room is a place for children to learn about their world and their place within it. They will make discoveries, research, hypothesis, build relationships, make connections and challenge their minds and bodies.

3-5 years (“Monkey Room”) - operates on Tuesdays & Thursdays during the school terms from 8.30am to 4pm and runs at the Family Support Services Building in Robertson St, Coonabarabran.

This room was established to assist in managing our extensive waiting list. It is a place for children to experiment and evaluate. They will investigate and explore their world, develop friendship and relationships; they will make discoveries, conduct research, make connections and challenge their mind and bodies.
