Meet Your Councillors

Warrumbungle Shire Council is represented by nine elected members, consisting of the Mayor and eight Councillors.

Councillors are elected by the community and have a responsibility to the Shire as a whole. All Members are elected for a four year term.

Mayor Peter Shinton
As a Councillor and Mayor, serving on council committees and through his membership of local organizations, Peter has been actively involved in community issues.
Deputy Mayor Murray Coe
Murray as Deputy Mayor will continue with his passion for improving our rural road network.
Cr Victor Schmidt
Coonabarabran businessman, Victor Schmidt is heavily involved in and passionate about the community.
Cr Ron Sullivan
An experienced councillor, Ron has 20 years of service to local government and says he has a proven track record with sound financial management.
Cr Denis Todd
Well known Baradine farmer and grazier, Denis Todd, has more than eight years of experience serving as a Councillor.
Cr Chris Sullivan
Chris Sullivan was born and bred in Dunedoo. He was employed in the agricultural retailing industry from 1959 to 1999 and for the next 10 years was employed to carry out residential and agricultural valuations across Western NSW.
Cr Anne-Louise Capel
Anne-Louise has lived near Coolah since 2005. She is a primary producer and has worked in the Agricultural sector since 1990.
Cr Fred Clancy
Born and raised in Coonabarabran, Fred was a Councillor of Coonabarabran Shire Council from 1996-2004. His current focus is economic development, tourism and cultural pursuits.
Cr Gary Andrews
Gary has lived in the Warrumbungle Shire his entire life. He appreciates the need to create employment and will be behind every effort to attract industry to the shire in order to build our economy and address population drift.
