Baradine: Once a timber milling town which sustained 12 fully operational timber mills and a population of 1580 residents, Baradine today still echoes a feeling reminiscent of the 1930’s. Although timber milling has nearly vanished in the area, Baradine now has a new reputation as a bird watchers and nature lover's paradise.

Binnaway: During the 1920’s, Binnaway was a bustling railway town acting as a vital transport link ferrying timber, grain and iron ore from rural NSW to coastal markets. To celebrate the town’s history with rail, a railway signal tribute has been established in the main street and the Binnaway community have restored the old railway barracks into comfortable accommodation.

Coolah: The town firmly stakes its claim as the home of the original Black Stump. It was here that the colloquial saying ‘beyond the black stump’, meaning ‘beyond the limits of settlement or civilisation’ is said to have originated.

Coonabarabran: The word Coonabarabran is said to derive from the Aboriginal word for ‘inquisitive person’ although the translation is somewhat debatable. Today the town is a thriving service centre for the surrounding areas with plenty of things to do and see. Coonabarabran has a range of attractions and accommodation options to cater for every need and taste.

Dunedoo: The town’s close proximity to the wine growing region of Mudgee (90 kilometres south) and regional centre of Dubbo (61 kilometres west), make it the ideal place to stretch your legs, wander the main street or enjoy a meal in one of the classic country pubs, takeaway stores or cute cafés.

Mendooran: Mendooran is a peaceful country town which still retains it's old time charm and traditional wide streets. There are several picnic and rest areas in Mendooran making it the ideal spot for a restful stopover.
